Managing Director proposes solution to Apapa traffic
The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mallam Habib Abdullahi, may have found the solution to the annoying persistent Apapa traffic.
According to him, the provision of adequate rail lines that connect the ports with major cities in Nigeria will ease the traffic in Apapa.
He said once this is done, petroleum products could be moved easily from the ports to other destinations.
Abdullahi said all of this at the stakeholders’ forum with the Senate Committee on Marine, where he said that the persistent traffic gridlock has affected them the most.
Last month, business operators announced that the Apapa traffic causes them to lose N5 billion daily.
Also, the Apapa traffic has forced Lagosians to take a 'walk of life'
