You can now create stories with your friends!

It’s kind of like a collaborative, ephemeral (disappears in 24 hours), party album or birthday book.

It works just like the regular Snapchat stories in how you post and disappearing after 24 hours. The only difference is that the Custom Snapchat Stories stay up until no one contributes to it for 24 hours.

It’s kind of like a collaborative, ephemeral (disappears in 24 hours), party album or birthday book.

To use this feature, you click “Create Story” in the Stories screen of your Snapchat app, name the story, select which of your friends can add to it, and then add images or videos like you normally would to your own story.

The friends you have selected will then be able to contribute their own images or videos to the custom story and it will appear in your “My Story” section. You will be able to contribute to any number of custom stories at any given time, but you can only create three running consecutively at any given time.

You can also make your custom story location-specific — about 200m, according to Snapchat — so any friend within that radius can contribute to the custom story.

Custom stories will only be visible to contributors, by default. However, you can select other friends you want to see it and anyone with the geo-fence location (if you use that) can view it as well.
