Snapchat has added in-app purchases for the first time ever. And the first is for replaying snaps.

The feature was initially made available in 2013 and you could only replay one video per day. However, for $0.99 you will be able to replay three snaps, once each.

In addition to the Replay feature, there is a new feature that lets you layer special effects on your selfies, in a major update to its Android and iOS app.

"We’ve provided one Replay per Snapchatter per day, sometimes frustrating the millions of Snapchatters who receive many daily Snaps deserving of a Replay," read a post on the company's blog. "But then we realized — a Replay is like a compliment! So why stop at just one?"

Finally, the update has a feature called “Lenses”, which lets you add special effects to the selfies you take within the app. To activate this feature, hold down on your face while the front camera is still open, and the app will provide you with instructions on how to use the various effects.
