Event submissions now open, new session formats have been added

The local SMW Lagos theme is “The [new] Language of Technology: The Future of Communication in Africa."

Apart from retooling its mission for the next five years, SMW Lagos will be introducing new programming  for next year's event and set up partnerships with stakeholders and global thought leaders .

For 2017, the global theme is "Language and The Machine" while the local SMW Lagos theme is “The [new] Language of Technology: The Future of Communication in Africa."

For the duration of the event, SMW Lagos will explore how technology is creating a "new language" and what that means for the future of communication in Africa.

Content programming for SMW Lagos 2017 will look at how this "new language," through online video, messaging apps, and voice interfaces allow us to share our stories and, ultimately, enable us take our collective learnings and apply them locally.

SMW Lagos 2017 will also feature the debut of new session formats:

#SMWSpeakEasy - These will be open conversations led by an industry expert or thought leader. They will be interactive and take place in an intimate setting.

#SMWSkillShare - These sessions will be led by developers, tech enthusiasts, ad design buffs. It will be hands-on and feature in-depth workshops that enable attendees gain more expertise.

#SMWOfficeHours - These sessions will be one-on-one sessions with investors and industry experts.
