In partnership with The Dangote Group and She Leads Africa, Social Media Week Lagos (SMW Lagos) debuts its African Women In Tech Startup Alley showcasing innovative women-led tech startups.  The African Women in Tech (AWIT) Startup Alley takes place at SMW Lagos on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, and will feature 5 startups.

AWIT Startup Alley is part of SMW Lagos' larger commitment to ensuring women are an integral part of conference programming and ongoing initiatives.

"Women make noteworthy contributions to the tech space and all industries for that matter.  Yet, women are often not given the same consideration as their male counterparts," states Ngozi Odita, Co-Founder and Executive Director of SMW Lagos.

"As an organisation, we believe that continued African progress and sustainable economic development can only be achieved if all citizens are empowered and given the capacity to move Africa forward. This is why SMW Lagos has made it a priority to put forth programming that is inclusive and more gender balanced. Our AWIT Startup Alley is one of several such programs."
