Jovago MD steps down

Former managing director of online hotel booking platform, Jovago, Marek Zmyslwoski, has stepped down from his role in the company to further his interests as a local investor in Nigeria. Zmyslwoski was the company’s managing director for more than two and a half years.

Zmyslwoski will now use the extra free time on his hands to probably focus on other local startups such as Talking Bookz and SimplePay which he has invested in over the past 5 months in addition to serving on the boards of other companies as a director.

“I will definitely be staying back in Nigeria. Last 2 years of Jovago, I gave 100% focus on Jovago but when it comes to Nigeria there are some other opportunities you will like to be part of. But it’s not good to be involved in many things as you loose focus easily. I’m at the stage where I wanted to satisfy the entrepreneur in me and get involved in companies not necessarily as a CEO but as adviser or investor and I would like to use my experience to build up a local company in Nigeria,” Zmyslwoski said, according to a Techpoint report.

Zmyslwoski will be replaced by Kushal Dutta, former head of revenue management at Jovago, as managing director.
