Media reports say Mr. Wasiu Anifowoshe, Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban development, has disclosed the relocation of the popular 'computer village' in Ikeja to Kontagora market in Agbado Oke Odo council area of the state before the year runs out.

Under the administration of former Governor Babatunde Fashola, the State had mapped out N500m for the project, however it was never executed.

“Another Urban Development project on the front burner is the development of Katangowa Market in Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, the market will accommodate businesses currently operating in the Ikeja Computer Village. The market, when fully completed, would boast of world class facilities that would enhance trade at the centre. I am also pleased to inform you that the second Phase of Tejuoso Ultra- Modern Market is ready for full business operations; furthermore, Urban Renewal studies are currently being carried out across the 3 Senatorial districts of Lagos State," said Anifowoshe.
Owners of abandoned buildings in Lagos State have also been given up till June 3, to occupy them or risk losing them to the government, the Nigeria CommunicationsWeek report further reveals.
