Tech company rebrands, integrates multiple brands [VIDEO]

In a new video explaining the way the whole thing works, Jumia communicates the premise it hopes to give its customers and partners per the new brand unification move

At the Jumia State of the Union address yesterday, June 23, 2016, which held at the MTN headquarters in Ikoyi, Lagos, the company announced the details surrounding the consolidation of AIG brands under the Jumia name.

Fatoumata Ba, former Jumia Nigeria MD and newly appointed CMO of Jumia's parent company AIG, who was the first to speak on the rebranding move, explained that all the AIG brands will now become Jumia brands.

Ba also touched on a business-wide integration of the brand name, both via websites and in-house. She said all the companies would still retain their pre-rebranding organizational structure, but would leverage the unification process in discharging their services.

Speaking next was Juliet Anammah, CEO of Jumia Nigeria, on the way the rebranding and unification process will work in regards to the customer.

Showing a presentation of what the new integrated Jumia website will look like, Anammah explained that the Jumia website will now contain button/sections for all the brands. So on the homepage, a user will find Jumia Travel, Jumia Food, Jumia Market, Jumia Cars, and so on. Users will also be able to make searches within each individual service and in countries where a certain isn't available, that service would simply be absent from the homepage of the integrated Jumia webisite.
