Back in August, Google made an announcement of changed name to ALPHABET following a restructuring of the tech giant's business operations but that the Google moniker and web experience will remain the same, and some ventures that were under the Google umbrella will be placed under Alphabet.
Tech giant officially becomes Alphabet
Google's new parent company called ALPHABET is now the official owners of google.
In a recent report by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Google has “implemented the Alphabet Merger.” That means Google stock has been converted into Alphabet stock (though the stock ticker symbol remains the same), with trading of Alphabet stock expected to begin when the market opens on Monday morning.
Google co-founder, Larry Page wrote that the structure will allow the company to
“Run things independently that aren’t very related” while also keeping
“Tremendous focus on the extraordinary opportunities we have inside of Google.”
