Google has opened its first brand location, a place it's target audience can be attracted to as they present a ‘life’ experience of aspects of the firm's image, and products.
Internet company opens shop in London
Google has announced the opening of its very first branded retail location in London called The Google Shop.
The Google Shop is located inside the Currys PC World location on Tottenham Court Road, Google will sell its range of Android smartphones and tablets while also allowing shoppers to purchase Chromebooks and Chromecast devices.
In addition to being used to peddle Google devices, The Google Shop locations will also be used to teach shoppers how to use devices and services they already have access to.
Tutorials will be held to teach people about devices as well as demonstrations to show off key Google apps.
Though Google had a Chromezone location in Some Currys stores, The Google Shop is the first retail location under its own name with a shop within a shop setup.
The locations will also be used to teach kids the basics of programming and a virtual camp locations for kids to learn.
Google plans to open other shop locations in Currys PC World locations in Fullham and Thurrock, though it’s unclear when those locations will open.
