iPhone 6S and 6S Plus to carry 12MP camera

The new camera on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus smartphones is expected to be one of the standout features of both devices

There has been several rumors in the past few months that the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus smartphones would come with a new 12 megapixel Apple iSight camera and now some more details on the camera have surfaced.

Geeky Gadgets reports that Apple has been ordering five element lenses from its suppliers for its new iPhones, the kind that is designed to work with a 12 megapixel camera.

The new camera on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus smartphones is expected to be one of the standout features of both devices and it has reportedly been designed to produce improved photos in low light conditions and also take in more light.

In addition the new camera, the new iPhones will also get a faster Apple A9 processor, a 2GB RAM and improved graphics.

The displays on both devices should also get a bump in resolution, the iPhone 6S expected to have a Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the iPhone 6S Plus should be getting a Quad HDF display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

Apple are expected to announce the new iPhones at a press event on the 9th of September, with the handsets rumored to be available for pre-order from the 11th of September and then stores on the 18th of September.
