'Only Students With 3.0 CGPA Can Contest SUG Elections'

According to CODESANU Communiqué quoted in the National Universities Commission (NUC) Bulletin of 13 October, 2014, a student can only be eligible to contest for Student Union Government positions if he or she has a Cumulative Grade Point Average  (CGPA) of 3.0 and above.

"...Only students with a CGPA of 3.0 and above should be allowed to contest elections in order to reduce unnecessary tension with regard to Student Union leadership," the report stated.

The Committee also decided that no political rallies will be allowed on university campuses and urged students not to allow themselves to be used by politicians.
