Nigerian youth can excel with 'proper' support — Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan has said he has hope in Nigerian youth, adding that they can achieve anything with proper support.
In his goodwill message on occasion of the sixth convocation ceremony of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia (MOUA), Jonathan expressed his confidence in the ability of Nigerian youth.
“I have hope in the Nigerian youth.
“I believe that with proper parental, communal and governmental support, our youths will not only excel academically but will also flourish in their chosen professions,”Jonathan was quoted as saying in a Premium Times report.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, MacJohn Nwaobiala, Jonathan called on universities to make judicious use of National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS), harping on infrastructure needs.
“As we work to sustain this approach, it is my hope that most tertiary institutions will be able to develop infrastructurally, and also improve on their academic service delivery,” he said.
He also commended the MOUA management for "prudent management of resources".
