A 21-year old undergraduate student of the Redeemer's University (RUN), Ogun, who made the headlines for butchering his father in with a knife and machete has blamed his action on anger following a midnight bite-attack.

Tolani who killed his father with a knife and machete said he committed the act in a fit anger after he was physically attacked
Tolani Ajayi, in his third year at RUN, studying History and International Relations, confessed to killing his his 60-year-old father, Charles Ajayi (SAN), but only after violent provocation.
Responding to journalists’ questions at at Eleweran, the Ogun State Police Command , Tolani said he killed his father out of anger.
"It was an anger that led me into this.
"My father just bit me repeatedly with his teeth. There was an argument between us and I stood up to him.
"He beat me with a stick and bit me with his teeth," Tolani confessed.
Provoked Beyond Control
Explaining the circumstances leading to the murder, Tolani said he only snapped after provocation, adding that his late father was the aggressor.
“My father went to the kitchen and got a stick he used it on me repeatedly and I tried to defend myself, then he bit me on my shoulder and I got angry.
"I used normal small kitchen knife, then, I used cutlass to attack him.”
He however said he feels remorse for the dastardly act.
“I regret my action,” he said repeatedly.
Inspired By Drugs?
Interestingly, Tolani had been arrested by the university authorities on two occasion and was facing a RUN panel for drug related offences before his infamous act.
This leads to questions on whether he was under the influence when he murdered his father.
“I tried those drugs myself. I might have heard it from my friends, but I tried it myself," he said.
A Widowed Mother
He added that he has made efforts to reach out to his mother and sister for forgiveness.
"I have sent some people to talk to her that I am sorry, I have talked to my sister, my mother is still grieving, I want to give her time.
"I have asked for forgiveness”.
A Deserved Punishment
The suspect said he is only waiting for his deserved judgement which no one can save him from.
"I am meant to pay for what I have done. It is not as if I am ready, it is something that is inevitable, something that is going to happen I am just waiting for it."
Tolani said reports claiming he killed his father over religious differences were false because he had "never missed church for once."
