Fifteen students will be awarded first class degrees as the Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, holds it seventh convocation ceremonies, the second in 2015, next Tuesday.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Debo Adeyewa, revealed this on Monday while announcing activities lined up for the convocation.
Adeyewa said a total of 447 students will be graduated, 15 of them in the first class division.
“We have 15 graduands, who made first class, 135 others had second class upper division while 200 are graduating with second class lower division," he said.
"Some 97 others fall into the third class and seven in pass categories."
The Vice Chancellor also criticized the federal government’s decision to exclude private universities from benefiting from Tertiary Education Trust Fund.
Interestingly, the university held its 6th Convocation Ceremony less than 9 months ago, on Thursday, 8th of January 2015.
Then, a total of 598 students graduated; 28 with First Class, 201 with Second Class Upper-Division, 266 with Second Class Lower-Division and 103 in other categories.
Redeemer's' University, owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), was established in January 2005 as the 9th private university in Nigeria.
