Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has promised to give automatic employment to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) corps who marry indigenes of the local communities during their service year.
Marry an indigene while serving, get automatic employment, Nasarawa Gov. tells corps members
“I promise automatic employment to any NYSC Batch ‘A’ corps member who marries an indigene in order to promote peaceful co-existence among the people of the state and others states of the country,” Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state said.
Al-Makura made the declaration on Tuesday while addressing the 2015 NYSC Batch ‘A’ corps members, at their swearing in-ceremony at the state's NYSC Orientation camp located at Magaji Dan Yamusa, Keffi LGA.
“I promise automatic employment to any NYSC Batch ‘A’ corps member who marries an indigene in order to promote peaceful co-existence among the people of the state and others states of the country,” Al-Makura said.
He said the inter-marriage between corps members and locals will foster unity between the state and other states as well as promote peaceful co-existence.
The Governor charged the corps members to work for the development of the communities and the nation at large.
“I urge you to use the lessons and experience you gained during this orientation course to develop yourselves, your host communities, the state and the Nigeria at large," he said.
“You should see yourselves as agent of positive change in the society."
Al-Makura had only recently won a second tenure in the April 11 guber polls.
