Legal practitioner urges govt to improve teachers’ welfare
He said teachers deserved an improved package for the betterment of the education system.
Abiodun told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin that teachers deserved an improved package for the betterment of the education system.
“Teachers welfare should be considered if we are to revive the dying education system.
“Teachers deserve better treatment. You cannot expect them to be productive when they are not well catered for.
“I am not surprised seeing the education system gradually sinking. Take good care of teachers and education is back to life,’’ he said.
Abiodun urged teachers to act as exemplary mentor and guardian to their students by showing commitment to service.
The legal practitioner also called on stakeholders to reposition the education system in order to meet international standard.
“If we get the education sector right, everything will be right for us as a nation,’’ he told NAN.
