Hajia Fatima Madugu, the Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Minna that the construction of the roads would begin “very soon”.
“As a citadel of earning, the university requires access roads to ease movement, especially to lecture halls,” Madugu said.
She explained that the expenditures, which were captured in the 2017 budget, also had provision for additional hostels to ease accommodation that had remained a major problem for students.
The commissioner said that power generating plants had been purchased to address frequent power outages that had affected studies and other activities on campus.
Madugu said that government was also working a general upgrade of the institution’s infrastructure to meet modern challenges.
