A new university is in the offing as the the Governor Olusegun Mimiko led Ondo state government unveiled plans to establish a Medical Science University.

Ondo state is planning a Medical Science University as it aims at halting brain drain in the state's health sector.

Speaking with newsmen in Ondo during a working tour of the Ondo Medical Village, the state's Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, said the proposed university will enable the institutionalisation of successes in the health sector.
Akinmade said the university will also halt the brain drain being experienced in the sector by training qualified health professionals who will oversee the affairs of the states medical institutions, Daily Independentts.
The Commissioner revealed that the university will build on existing platform created by the Ondo government and ensure the sustainability of a qualitative health care system.
