He said that few other universities have dropped their applications for accreditation to take the institute’s professional courses. Shodeinde said that their applications would be considered and accredited when they meet the required standard.According to him, the courses are currently undergoing scrutiny and review.“We have accreditation and re-accreditation of training of providers as well as those who train people on CILT courses.“We have 12 tertiary institutions that have met the required standard to take our courses.
“The institutions are: Lagos State University, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Redeemers University, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH) Ogbomosho.“Others are, Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, (FUTO), NACOL, NITT, Centre for Logistics and Transport Education (CELOTE) and Multimix Academy.“These are all our training providers and we accredited them periodically, we assess them to see if they can continue to meet the required international standard that we have set for them.“We go there to see that they have the facilities and human capacity to deliver because it’s an international course for both professionals and students,” he said. The director said they have some applications from institutions that wanted accreditation to take CILT courses, but they have to meet the requirements before being accredited.Shodeinde said CILT is a leading international professional body for all sector of logistics and transport supply chain industry in Nigeria.“CILT was founded in United Kingdom and we have been operating in Nigeria under the royal charter.“We, therefore, think it is about time the institute should be recognised, nationalised and established,” he said.
