Two graduates of Nigeria's oldest University, the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Isaac Adewole (Osun) and Professor Anthony Onwuka, have made it to President Muhammadu Buhari's list of Nigerians nominated to serve as ministers in his cabinet.
The nominees are the present Vice Chancellor of UI, Professor Isaac Adewole (Osun) and the President of the he National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Professor Anthony Onwuka.
Professor Onwuka has a long history with UI, beginning from 1975.

Professor Isaac Adewole, reputed to be a great scholar and erudite administrator, has a more intimate relationship with the premier university.
It began in October 1973 when he enrolled at the College of Medicine and obtained an MBBS degree, winning the Glaxo Allenbury prize for outstanding performance in Paediatrics in 1978.
He then went on to start his academic career as Lecturer I and rose to the position of a Senior lecturer in 1992.
In 1997, Adewole was appointed a Professor College Of Medicine and Member of the university’s Senate. Two years later, in 1999, he became Acting Head of the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, serving until the 1st of August 2000 when he became the Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences and Dentistry.
In 2002 he was appointed as Provost, College of Medicine and in December 2010, he was appointed as the 11th substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan.
Both Adewole and Onwuka will face the Senate screening before their confirmation as ministers.
There are speculations that Prof Adewole may be made the Minister of Health while Professor Onwuka may become the Minister of Agriculture.
