The Football Association of Iceland confirmed the friendly will be their final preparatory match before the World Cup kicks-off.
The Iceland Football body confirmed the scheduled friendly with Ghana on their official website with a message which said, “Our Men’s Team A (Iceland) will play against Ghana at Laugardalsvellir on June 7th,”
Iceland who recently revealed their World Cup Jerseys, will play friendlies against North American side Mexico on Saturday, March 24, before they face South American side Peru on Wednesday, March 24.
The Iceland football body has also scheduled a friendly with fellow Europeans Norway in their later stage preparation for the tournament.
The proposed friendly between Iceland and Ghana will hold on Thursday, June 7, nine days before they face Argentina in their World Cup opener on Friday, June 16.
The game between Iceland and Ghana is an opportunity for the European team to face an African team as they prepare to take on Nigeria in their second group game on Thursday, March 22.
