The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon who are Super Eagles next opposition in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers beat Egypt in the AFCON 2017 final to lift the title.

Despite their status as African champions, Rohr whose Super Eagles side face Cameroon in a doubleheader in August and September insist he is not scared of the Indomitable Lions.

“I say congratulations at first, they did a good work, they started slowly and it wasn’t easy to qualify from a group of Gabon and Burkina Faso and even Guinea-Bissau,” Rohr said in an interview with the media officer of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye.

“They have a good mentality, they never give up, physically strong, technically good football and have a good coach.

“There was an evolution in the team, the coach was lucky with some changes bringing in players which scored.

“I’m not afraid of the team. I am happy that we can beat the African champion in Uyo.”

As African champions, Rohr is happy that the Indomitable Lions are coming into the game as favourites while the Super Eagles will be underdogs.

“They are favourite now because they are champions,” the 63-year-old said in the interview which is on the official Youtube channel of the Super Eagles.

“What is positive is that they have lived together for five weeks, played together for six games and became better.

“We did not do anything together with our Super Eagles. We are only monitoring and speaking with our players at their clubs.”

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will host Cameroon in Uyo in August before traveling to face the African champions in Cameroon a few days later.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are top of Group B in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers with six points from maximum wins with Cameroon following in second with just two points.
