Moses, Iwobi to miss training camp in May ahead of South Africa clash

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face South Africa in their opening game of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers on Saturday, June 10.

Ahead of the game, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are expected to be in camp in France in May.

England-based stars Moses and Iwobi will however not be able to join their Super Eagles teammates in camp due to club commitments.

Moses’ Chelsea and Iwobi’s Arsenal are to play in the FA Cup final on Saturday, May 27 in Wembley.

Chelsea beat Tottenham 4-2 on Saturday, April 22 while Arsenal overcame Manchester City 2-1 the following day, Sunday, April 23 to all reach the final.

With both plays expected to be in the squad for the final, they will not be with their Super Eagles teammates who will be in France training ahead of the South Africa clash.

Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has confirmed that his team will camp in France ahead of the clash against South Africa in June.

Rohr has revealed that he does not want his players to go off on holidays after the regular season with their respective clubs.

“France is in Europe and close to these players, I want them to get there as soon as possible,” Rohr told Pulse at the Agege Stadium on Sunday, April 9.
