MFM FC striker hits his personal target with brace against Plateau United
MFM FM controlled the game in the early minutes with Plateau United defender Golbe Elisha impressive at the back.
Chances were, however, few to come by despite MFM FC’s possession until added time in the first half when Sikiru Olatunbosun escaped his marker before passing the ball to Odey who composed himself to net the opener.
Plateau United improved in the second half with Mafeng Pam, Joshua Obaje and Ibeh Johnson combining well with substitute Peter Eneji who net the equaliser in the 62nd minute.
Plateau United got into the game as MFM FC players seem to be tiring.
MFM FC playmaker Onuwa Chukwuka, however, continued to be a threat with his run from midfield and his deft touches.
It was Onuwa’s pass to Sikiru that led to a penalty after the latter was fouled in the box.
Odey scored from the spot for his 10th league goal of the season.
The striker after the game told Pulse Sports that he has achieved his goal of hitting double figures this season.
“My personal target was to score double numbers, now I have it but I want to continue to score,” the striker said.
The win takes MFM FC to second in the table just a point below Plateau United.
