At the awards, Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera was named the Player of the Year award named after Matt Busby which was voted by fans.

It is very special for me to win this award because when you see the list of the winners you realise how important it is... and because I stop the record of David [de Gea] and because the trophy stays in Spain as well,” Herrera said.

Valencia who had a fine season as a right back was voted the Players’ Player of the Year.
