Former Super Eagles star was hosted by his former club Everton

Amokachi spent two seasons with Everton from 1994 to 1996 before moving to Turkey to join Beşiktaş.

The 44-year-old remains a huge fans’ favourite at Everton for the role he played in their 1995 FA Cup win which is to date their last major trophy.

Amokacho scored two goals against Tottenham in the semi-final helping Everton to book a place in the final which they also won.

The former Super Eagles forward was given a standing ovation at Goodison Park at half-time during Everton’s 2-1 Premier League win over Bournemouth.

“Good to be back home...Standing ovation from the Blue Army at Goodison Park,” Amokachi wrote on his Twitter alongside a video of his introduction.

Amokachi also shared a video of him chatting with Eddie Howe, manager of Bournemouth before the game.

"Guess who wanted to meet moi... Eddie Howe Bournemouth manager! He said I was his best Everton player then," the 1996 Atlanta Olympics gold medallist also wrote on Twitter.

Amokachi also won the Community Shield (then known as Charity Shield) also in 1995.
