The National welterweight champion, Stanley “Edo Boy” Eribo, has promised to defeat Tanzania’s Meshack “Smart Boy” Mwankemwa, to win the African Welterweight Title.

In a recent chat, Edo Boy stressed that he's unmoved by Smart Boy's victories or history as he's determined to defeat him.

I don’t care whether he is the national champion of Tanzania or Japan. What I know is that he will be defeated. Nigeria needs the African title and I need it too. We are bigger than Tanzania and I will prove it by beating Meshack," Edo Boy stated.

He further said: "To be honest, that guy stands no chance as fans will see. I am in camp and training like it is my last ever fight. I just want Nigerians to come in their thousands to cheer me on that day because I'm winning the title for Nigeria and myself,” said Edo Boy.
