Olamide's Bobo leads this week, Patoranking is also strong

Pulse Music Charts is a weekly countdown from Pulse Music which lists the hottest music videos in Nigeria.

 

It’s a revolutionary week in the Pulse Music Video Chart.

It’s the beginning of a new chart designed to freshen things up and give you a current perspective of the music video scene within the industry.

A number of new videos are currently bustling the music scene, with a steady rise in viewership and recognition.

In number 1 this week is Olamide, rocking his new visual for the single ‘Bobo’, with its similar instrumentation to ‘Story for the gods’, it is no surprise that it is generally accepted.

Hotly behind Olamide is Dancehall King, Patoranking who comes into the new chart with ‘Daniella whine’, an energetic video which represents all that he stands for musically. The man from Enugu has been a bit on the chill this year, but ‘Daniella whine’ does keep things ticking for him.

Yemi Alade’s form with her music is phenomenal, coming across as the most hardworking presently in the industry and she has found new ways to spin her materials, breathing new life into them in the process. ‘Kissing’ appeared to have run its course, until she released a French version.

Burna Boy’s experimentation with Afrobeat comes in the 4 position. ‘Soke’ is gathering traction, as the sound, though familiar, is sweeping purists off their feet. Phyno comes hard in the fifth position with his racing video for ‘Oringo’.

Sean Tizzle’s ‘Bottles’ might not have been treated with the ‘wow-reception’, but it sure gets people viewing. He’s starts the lower half of the chart. A fine gentleman he is. Seyi Shay also represents the female folk as she gets her Eastern side on display with ‘Jangilova’.

Hip-hop isn’t left out of the mix as Reminisce unites with his ‘Local rappers’ on the struggle, Phyno and Olamide, and they occupy the 8 spot.

The last two places are reserved for new videos with Skales and Cynthia Morgan representing.
