The Lagos State Commissioner for. Physical Planning and Urban Development, Toyin Ayinde has said that the collapsed guest house within the Synagogue Church of All Nations was illegal.

Ayinde said no approval was given for the building while the main church currently has additional three illegal floors.
Commissioner Ayinde told the court at Thursday's inquest sitting spearheaded by the Lagos State coroner, Oyetade Komolafe.
No fewer than 115 people died in the collapsed building owned by founder of SCOAN, T.B. Joshua while survivors sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The Nation reports that Ayinde said no approval was given for the building while the main church currently has additional three illegal floors.
He said from the CCTV footage shown to him by the church, he noticed the building fell symmetrically.
