These are the major prophecies of 2016 that refused to happen, even though they were made by 'Men of God.'

Those with fulfilled prophecies are seen as real preachers, while the unfortunate ones risk being discredited. Unfortunately for these preachers, their predictions simply did not happen.

Here are three major prophecies that did NOT come to pass in 2016.

1. Prophet T.B Joshua says Hillary Clinton will win the U.S elections: As we all know by now, this did not happen since Donald Trump is the current 45th presidential-elect. This earned him days of trolling on Twitter, and other social media platforms. The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) leader tried to justify his prophecy by saying that it came to pass as Clinton won the popular vote. When this didn't appease the public, he tried a different appproach. He released another message blaming the 'false' prophecy on the fasting and prayer of Americans.

2. Reverend Chris Okafor says Mallam Nasir El-Rufai will die in 14 days: On March 20, 2016, the Liberation Ministries pastor gave a 14-day ultimatum to the Kaduna state governor. The pastor, also known as the "oracle of God", warned the governor not to pass the proposed religious censorship bill or die. Unfortunately for the preacher, this statement did not come to pass. Nigerians immediately called out the pastor for passing a fake prophecy.

Apostle Johnson Suleiman of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) also said something to the governor. He said, “I am saying this to the Executive Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, The governor responded by saying, "If that apostle is truly an apostle, he should mention the day I will die."  Pastor Suleiman reacted with this statement, "The man said I should give him the date of his death. You are dead already, ask for the date of your burial. I dont give dates for death, but I can give date of your burial.”In spite of these two prominent pastors, El-Rufai is still alive.

3. Apostle Eugene Ogu says Nigerian economy will be great in 2016: In January, 2016, the General overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission, prophesied that things would be amazing this year. During the Crossover Night at his church, he said, "Nigeria’s economy will shock the nations of the world. 2016 is a year of divine promotion by the will of God. The country’s Naira will regain its strength in the first quarter of this year."  I saved this for last because this clearly did not happen. The Naira did not regain its strength, rather it went on a downward spiral and the economy is obviously in a deep recession.

Honorable Mention: Conspiracy theorists say the world will end in less than 15 days. According to this YouTube channel, the world would end by July 29, 2016 "with the second coming of Jesus Christ, which occurs at the same time as a magnetic polar flip and catastrophic global earthquake."  Its now December, 2016 and we are still here.

Lets all hope these people learn from their mistakes and stop making prophecies that could destroy their credibility.
