The Emir of kano, Muhammadu sanusi II has urged Muslims not to be forced to slaughter rams for the Eid el-Kabir celebration, if they cannot afford it.
"Don't slaughter rams if you cannot afford it"
Muslims who can afford the rams are expected to observe killings of sacrificial animals and share with those who cannot afford in the spirit of the festival as instructed by prophet Muhammed.
The Eid el-Kabir, is not merely a day for celebration but also a day in which mankind should seek Allah’s blessings and offer supplications to him, This day is in remembrance of the occurrence between Prophet Ibrahim and his son Prophet Ishmael and also to mark the second day of Mount Arafat hajj rite which is also called Eid-il-kabir.
Chairman, National hajj commission of Nigeria [NAHCON] Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammed said during the special prayer for the nation on the Arafat plain that there can never be a better opportunity to pray to Allah to help Nigeria overcome its challenges.
