Be gentle and humble in heart
Matthew 11:29 - "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart...."
In spite of this human interpretation of these two qualities, God, through the Bible, encourages us to have them.
Thankfully, we have Him to learn from, as seen in Matthew 11:29, which says, "take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart...."
Why? You make ask. This verse ends by saying, "and you will find rest for your souls."

God wants us to be gentle and humble so that our souls can have rest/peace of mind.
Having these two qualities in our hearts leaves no room for anger, stress, arrogance, and other negative stuff.
When we possess these two, we can trust God, His plan for us, stop worrying, stressing out over life's challenges, and simply hand over the wheels to the master of the universe.
Here is a list of reasons to be gentle and humble in heart:
1. You become free of unnecessary negative qualities, emotions and characteristics.
2. You begin to lean on God's understanding, rather than yours.
3. You hand over your life to God, meaning you are free of stress, worries, and so on.
4. You become selfless. "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." (Philippians 2:3)
5. You become Christlike, which should be the goal of every Christian. "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross! "(Philippians 2:5-8)
NOTE: Being gentle and humble does not make you weak and spineless in the eyes of God. While humans might accuse you of being passive, you can take confidence in following God's words.
Besides, we know we are rewarded when we obey God's words.
Psalm 37:11 promises us that "the humble will inherit the land and will delight themselves in abundant prosperity."
So, stop worrying about what people have to say, and simply be gentle and humble in heart!
