On Sunday, July 5th 2015, the Noor Cultural Centre in Toronto, Canada will play host to a number of faith groups.
Interfaith network rally for climate change
Iftar is the evening meal when Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset.
The faith organisations will be coming together to show their support for climate change.
The multi-fath event, a special Iftar gathering is sponsored by Faith & the Common Good, a national interfaith network, and Noor Cultural Centre.
Speaking to about the event, Lucy Cummings, Executive Director of Faith & the Common Good said “Coming together as a community to break the Ramadan fast helps us to see that we have each other for support as we strive to renew the sacred balance with the earth.”
Cummings added that 'Ramadan symbolises the spiritual practices and communal fellowship that give us the strength to make these changes.'
The highlight of the event is a photographic slide show, “One Planet: Harnessing Hope”, that will showcase the various climate change support activities of some faith groups in Canada.
