Fuji icon, Adewale Ayuba has reacted to recent reports that he has converted from his childhood religion, Islam, to Christianity.
Fuji star says his religious belief is personal
The Fuji icon has refused to react to the reports that he has converted to Christianity, insisting that his religion is private and not for public knowledge.
Reports have it that the Fuji star was recently spotted worshipping at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Parish in Victoria Island Lagos. It was also reported that the Ogun State born veteran musician was hands on during the church’s carol celebration on Tuesday, December 2 and even led the congregation in worship songs.
Speaking to on the issue, the veteran Fuji star refused to confirm or deny the reports, instead insisting that his religion should not be the focus of the public, rather, he should be judge by his music alone.
“I don’t think I would want to say anything about,” the star told Pulse.ng.
“Religion is a personal thing so I don’t see a reason why people should be concerned with who and what I worship. Judge me with my music alone and leave my religion,” Adewale Ayuba to a Pulse.ng reporter.
Though he is a known Muslim, Adewale Ayuba is known to always go and worship in churches. In a 2012 interview the singer reacted to a question about his religion after he was spotted at Winners Chapel’s Canaanland in Ota.
“Let me ask you a question, what do people do at Canaan Land? They do there to pray, no to worship idols. I don’t know why people are talking about my visit to Canaan Land. I am sure those people don’t know that my wife is a Christian and that she attends Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners’ Chapel. I was at their convention to pray to God, I don’t think that there’s any crime in that. I went to my wife’s church to worship, does not mean I have been converted? I think people should get busy with something else rather than talking about who goes where. There is no big deal in what I have done, ” he said in the interview.
