Housing Corporation promises to deal with housing deficit in 2016
The Housing Corporation in Ogun state is making a huge promise concerning it's housing deficit.
According to Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing Development, Mrs. Jumoke Akinwunmi, the organisation is prepared to solve housing needs by providing affordable accomodations.
Speaking at the corporation’s budget presentation before the state’s House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Akunwunmi predicted a massive turnaround in housing development, this year.
“It is noteworthy to say that the corporation is confident of making houses available to the residents of the state as the proposed budget estimates for 2016 are all encompassing to make this a reality."
Last year, the state government made a housing budget proposal of N3.74 billion.
The Ogun state Commissioner for Housing, Mrs Oluwasegun Abiodun, said the money was for the development of ten hectares of housing estates in Abeokuta, Sagamu, Ifo, Ijebu-Ode, Ado- Odo Ota, among others.
As part of the state government's efforts towards industrialisation, housing project is a dedicated infrastructure in order to attract new business at Agbara Industrial Estates.”
