“This is an area we have carved a niche for ourself and our latest programme on affordable housing is focusing on rural areas. Everything is about creativity; we have been challenged and this will spur us to greater heights."

Mr. Olabode Segun, the Executive Director, SPDC, also spoke on the recognition.

“We have awards that people lobby for, but the Africa Leadership Magazine saw our good work and considered us for this award. This is just the beginning of what we have for the people. Many people are campaigning for affordable housing but at Sparklight, we are not only providing the product, but the ability to afford it through mortgage offers.”

The Group Head of Research and Development of ALG, Mr. Chrys Anyanwu, highlighted the significance of the award.

“People do not lobby for awards from us, so if you receive it, it is based on merit from your work. There is a need to change the African narrative, hence the need to reward excellence and leadership in the continent."
