The federal government of Nigeria has announced plans to provide 10,000 houses for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

In order to handle this task, the federal government has constituted a committee called the North East Housing Reconstruction Initiative.
This vice chairman of committee, Hajiya Hadiza Muhammed, spoke on the effort made by the group.
"We are going to build no fewer than 10, 000 houses in Adamawa. With the work given to me to go round all the local governments to do documentaries of houses destroyed; that one has been done and we will make presentations to the president and, very soon, we will start reconstructing the region."
The committee aims to provide 1.7 million people with 10,000 houses in 300 housing estates tagged Bindow Housing Estate.
