Wike made the claim on Monday, March 21, 2016, via a statement released by his media aide, Simeon Nwakaudu.
“We have videos of the atrocities committed by the military across Rivers State. We shall release them at the appropriate time,” Nwakaudu quoted Wike as saying.
“There is an attempt to cause violence to declare a state of emergency in Rivers state,” Wike added.
Meanwhile, Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose has warned President Muhammadu Buhari against declaring a state of emergency in Rivers
“They have been insinuating that (state of emergency) too in Ekiti. We have been waiting for them. Power has gone beyond the leaders, power has gone back to the people,” Fayose said.
“There are certain things leaders will do today, you will eat it tomorrow. You want to declare state of emergency, declare it and we will tell you that the state of emergency will not work too. This country belongs to all of us,” he added.
Fayose had earlier also blamed Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the violence in Rivers.
