EFCC reportedly arrests ex-Governor’s aide

The ex-Governor’s spokesperson, is currently being interrogated at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.

 

Miebi Bribena, spokesman for former Bayelsa Governor Timipre Sylva, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).

According to Punch Newspapers, Bribena’s arrest is in connection to with an alleged contract scam.

Reports say he allegedly refused to execute a contract which he was paid an undisclosed amount of money for.

Bribena allegedly received 95% mobilisation fee for the job from the office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, and absconded with the money.

Timipre Sylva is the All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial candidate in Bayelsa state.

He is running against the incumbent Governor, Seriake Dickson, who is the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
