Senator Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to his suspension by the Kaduna State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC suspended Sani for his criticism of the policiesof Governor Nasir El-Rufai among other things.

The Senator reacted today, December 29, 2015, via Facebook. He wrote:

"The calling of my conscience is to call a spade a spade; You can chose to call a spade a spoon or a pan. To speak the truth is to express; to relieve that very burden, upon which your conscience impose on you as a man with a moral obligation to his society."

"If we as a people adopt the concept of categorising those we should tell the truth and those we should not, we have institutionalised the desecration of our natural and universal human moral standards on the alter of our narrow, parochial or immediate interest."

"To some, truth is an eternal title they confer on their infallible heroes; to some, truth is a moral standard they hold every man to account."

Sani had previously accused El-Rufai of adopting anti-people policies and also said that he had intended to be governor but stepped down because El-Rufai was President Muhammadu Buhari’s choice.
