APC members pledge to maintain peace
The spokesperson of the candidates, Chief Andrew Uchendu, said it was their duty to hand over a peaceful Rivers state to the next generation.

This is coming on the heels of reports saying the National Assembly rerun elections which held on Saturday, March 19, 2016, was marred by violence.
Uchendu said “We will not be part of any group that plans to destroy our state. Recent events have proved that there is uneasy calm in the state
“There is political madness in the land. The trend we are seeing is frightening and we, the candidates of APC, will never be part of it.
“Rivers belongs to all of us and we owe it as a sacred duty to preserve and defend it and hand the state over to the next generation.”
He also said “Beyond our individual political interest, care must be taken by all political gladiators to ensure that the integrity of the state remains unblemished.”
Uchendu said the political situation in the state during the elections, was alarming.
A corp member, Mr Samuel Okonta was killed during the rerun elections.
