Ogun chapter lauds Sheriff, Makarfi reconciliatory move

Ogun PDP chairman has hailed the reconciliation move by Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi saying it was long expected, but that it came at the most auspicious time.

Sikirulahi Ogundele, Chairman Ogun State PDP

Ogundele said the move by Senators Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Markafi to end the crisis which has been plaguing the party for some months now, saying this has proven that the PDP is one indivisible entity that is ready to re-position to take over the leadership of the country at the centre.

In a statement signed on behalf of Ogundele by the Publicity Secretary of the party in Ogun State, Alhaji Malik Olamilekan Ibitoye and made available to the media, the party Chairman said the reconciliation was long expected, but that it came at the most auspicious time.

"We are really impressed by the meeting between the foremost leaders of our great party. It is the best thing that has happened to the country at this time that she is experiencing the most difficult economic situation occasioned by directionless and ruderless leadership being provided by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

"The PDP is now battle ready to contest the next general elections and it is certain that this is what the teeming population of the country was waiting for as our party has the solution to the myriad of problems confronting the nation at this material time. We have gone through the process of rebirth and millions of our members across the nation are ready to Change the negative change that has been fraudulently foisted on Nigerians," the statement read.

Ogundele also enjoined the PDP in the 36 states of the federation to join hands together to move the country forward, adding that the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government does not understand the dynamics of governance.

Ibitoye further quoted the state party chairman appealing to the leadership of state chapters of the PDP, where factions exist to  borrow a leaf from the exemplary and selfless display of political maturity by leadership of the national organ of the party, and join hands to reclaim the position of the party in the country.

‎The two leaders of the PDP, Senators Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Markafi had earlier today met at an undisclosed location where they agreed to resolve all the issues affecting the party.
