Election winners urged to distribute dividends of democracy

Resident Electoral Commissioner in Bauchi State, Prof. Hamman Tukur, said winners in the just concluded polls should see the feat as an opportunity to serve the electorate.

'Those recently elected should see the mandate a challenge and should reciprocate by distributing the dividends of democracy to the electorate.'

Resident Electoral Commissioner in Bauchi State, Prof. Hamman Tukur, gave this charge during the presentation of certificates of return to the Governor, Deputy Governor, Senators and Members of the House of Representatives in Bauchi on Friday, April 17.

"Those elected should see the mandate as a huge challenge and should reciprocate by ensuring that the dividends of democracy are distributed among all parts of the state.”

He also said that the winners should understand that it was a silent revolution happening in the country and if they refused to serve their people it could affect them too.
