A Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out two of three suits challenging the eligibility of President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to contest in the March 28 presidential elections.

The cases were struck out by Justice Adeniyi Ademola on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, after the plaintiffs decide to withdraw their suits.

Lawyers for the plaintiffs explained that their clients decided to abandon the matter in order to allow the incoming government time to focus on the “enormous task” of governance.
The recent development means there is only one eligibility suit, filed by one Ayakeme Whiskey pending against Buhari.
Buhari defeated incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan to emerge winner of the elections and will be sworn in on May 29, 2015.
