500 dump PDP for APC

The mass defection reportedly occurred over the weekend at the Nko Ward in Yakurr Local Government Area of the state.

500 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State have defected to the rulingAll Progressives Congress (APC), reports say.

The defectors were led by PDP chieftain, Brigadier General Enang Ukagu (rtd), Daily Trust reports.

Ukagu is said to have revealed that he made the decision to defect because he saw the importance of keying into the APC’s ‘change mantra.’

He also said that the APC had proven to Nigerians that the era of good governance and prudent management of the country’s resources is here.

The PDP has witnessed an exodus of its member since losing its 16-year ruling party status to the APC during the 2015 general elections.
