This is following the freezing of his Zenith bank account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, June 20, 2016.

The group also said the freezing of the Governor’s account was the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

Daily Post reports that the spokesman of the group, a former Deputy Governor in Ekiti state, Chief Paul Alabi said “From all these happenings, it is clear that the APC-led ‎Federal Government is actively using both the DSS and the EFCC and other federal agencies to harass and intimidate Governor Ayodele Fayose for no other reason than raising his voice against what he sees as the illegalities and bad policies of the APC-led Federal Government.

“As elders of the party in Ekiti State, we are very much disturbed at this trend where a sitting governor who enjoys constitutional immunity‎ is being harassed by institutions created by the state for no just cause other than being the voice of the masses.”

You will recall that the Department of State Security (DSS) reportedly invaded the Ekiti state House of Assembly and allegedly arrested some lawmakers sometime ago.
