PDP says Oshiomhole, El-Rufai influenced postponement of polls

INEC postponed the Edo governorship elections following a report issued by security operatives, of a possible terror attack in the state.

The APC has urged EFCC, ICPC and other anti-graft agencies to curb the use of stolen public funds to finance elections.

The PDP alleged that Oshiomhole asked El-Rufai to influence an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the polls.

The Edo state government however denied the allegations, saying the PDP is afraid of losing the elections.

The Edo INEC spokesperson, Mrs. Priscilla Imoudu-Sule also denied the allegations, describing it as an imagination.

She said “I want to say that the electoral officers have been very busy retrieving their materials from their camp. Also, they have brought their card readers for fresh reconfiguration.

“So, all those things anybody is saying are not from here; they are just their imagination. I would rather advise that they go and campaign for the remaining two weeks and make up for that time. They should leave the administrative issues for INEC alone.”

Governor Nyesom Wike also slammed Governor Adams Oshiomhole for alleging that he donated N2b to the PDP guber candidate in Edo, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
