Governor Adams Oshiomhole had earlier alleged that the Edo PDP in conjunction with some Governors in the South-Southhired 8,000 militants to disrupt the polls

Oshiomhole also alleged that Governor Nyesom Wike and his Delta state counterpart, Ifeanyi Okowa gave N2b to the PDP guber candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

According to the Rivers PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, Oshimohole is desperate to ensure that the All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the elections.

Nwanosike also said the allegations are false, adding that the amnesty granted militants in Rivers has nothing to do with the Edo elections.

He said the Rivers PDP also has no plans to disrupt the governorship elections in Edo state, scheduled to hold on September 28, 2016.

Governor Wike also slammed the Edo Governor for spreading lies in a bid to win elections in the state.

He said the Edo people have rejected the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Oshiomhole can’t handle the reality.
