Shettima also said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would have destroyed Nigeria if Buhari hadn’t won the 2015 general elections.

He made the comments on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, during a visit by the Northern Governors Forum (NGF) to Benue state.

“Had President Buhari not win the election in 2015, Nigeria would have gone into extinction and as it is now, the PDP need to be proscribed,” he said.

“The North had moral duty to support Benue state following her continuous support of presidential candidates from the region,” he added.

Shettima, who’s the chairman of the NGF, led a delegation of the forum to visit the Tor Tiv V, His Royal Majesty Prof. James Ayatse, Gov. Samuel Ortom and Senator George Akume in Makurdi, the state capital.
